Welcome to this month’s post in our series designed to help you do your Month Reviews in your Life Noted planner!
The Life Noted planner (in academic year or January-December formats) is designed to help you set, track, and evaluate your goals all year and incorporate your goal tasks into your everyday life. There are pages to help you do annual and monthly reviews and goal setting.
Every month when it’s time to do your Month Review in your Life Noted planner, I’ll have a new post to give you ideas on how to do the review.
Each month has a new theme. You can pick the theme you like best and do that every month, or you can do the new theme each month, or pick and choose the elements you like from each month’s theme to do your monthly review. Remember, this is all about you! Do what you find most useful.
For this month’s theme we are focusing on work and/ or school. Now that we are a couple of months into the year (!), you have a good idea of how things are progressing for you.
Look back at your work/ school goals for this year. Now that you’ve had a couple of months to work on them, do you think your expectations were realistic? Why or why not?
Have you made as much progress on your goals as you expected to in the past two months? If not, why?
What roadblocks have you encountered? What did/ can you do to get around them?
Which goals have you completed, or are on track to complete on time? Celebrate your success!
What could you have done better? What disappointments have you had?
If you are falling short of your goals, it’s not too late to get back on track. What are some ways you can get back on track to your goals?
Which of your goals have changed? Has the timeline changed, the focus, or have some goals become less important?
What do you need to do to improve your success?
These can be tough questions to ask yourself, but they will allow you to see clearly what you need to do in order to improve your focus on your work/ school goals. Take the lessons you have learned so far this year and apply them to focus on your goals for the rest of the year.
The Life Noted month review posts are on the Friday of the last week of that month in your Life Noted planner, right before the monthly review pages. These are not always the last Friday of each month; they are on the Friday of the week before the start of the new month. Follow along in your Life Noted planner and you’ll find that these posts come up just when you need them! They go up on a Friday so you have all weekend to do your month review.
