Continuing our series on daily journaling prompts, here is a list of journaling topics for every day in October! This gives everyone some new ideas for journaling, and can help take the pressure off to think of something to journal about every day, especially for people doing our Page Per Day Challenge.

Some days are the same each month:

At the beginning of each month we write our goals for the upcoming month. Even if you did this earlier in the year, things change so it’s a good idea to re-set and update your goals each month. We also write what we are looking forward to this month.

Mid-month we see what progress we’ve made. This is a chance to jump-start any goals that have slipped off your radar and regain focus.

At the end of the month we write about good things/ favorite moments for the month, and evaluate our goals progress to see what still needs work in the upcoming weeks.

All the other days have new journaling topics and writing prompts!

This month’s theme is: Would You Rather?

This is similar to, but different from, the game you played with your friends as a kid. This month I’m not going to ask you to write whether you would rather eat a worm or a bug. Each day will have a prompt where you need to choose your preference. Some are just fun, others are to get you to think more deeply about the subject. For all of them, the most important part is to write Why.

Why do you prefer one over the other? What do you like about one or dislike about the other? What does that mean to you, and your life?

Here we go!

1: What do you want to do this month? Write your goals for the month, and think about what you need to do to accomplish them.

2: Would you rather travel to the moon, or to the deepest part of the ocean?

3: Would you rather bake a cake, or build a bookcase?

4: Would you rather spend a ten day vacation on a sunny beach, or snow skiing?

5: If you could only have one or the other for a week, would you rather listen to classical music or silence?

6: You must convey an image of a statue. Would you rather draw a sketch of it, or write a description of it?

7: Would you rather spend three nights in an igloo, or in a tent in the desert?

8: Would you rather give a speech to 1,000 people, or bungee jump off a bridge?

9: Would you rather have a pet mammal or a pet reptile?

10: You are going on a worldwide tour for three months with someone of your choosing. Would you rather go with ten people, or one person?

11: Would you rather grow a 2 acre garden, or take care of 10 cows?

12: You live in a 30 story building. Would you rather live on the top floor, or the bottom floor?

13: Which do you like better: rain or snow?

14: Would you rather eat a worm or a bug? Just kidding! Would you rather eat ice cream or potato chips?

15: Mid-month review! How are your goals coming along? What can you accomplish in the remainder of this month?

16: Would you rather spend a month in Tibet, or Paris?

17: You have an unlimited budget for a new car. Would you buy the most powerful SUV, or the fastest sports car?

18: Would you rather ride in a hot air balloon, or in a sailboat?

19: If you could only wear one color of shirt for a month, would you rather wear red or blue?

20: If you could travel in time, would you rather go to the past or the future?

21: Would you rather be a famous pop star, or famous painter?

22: Would you rather make a huge scientific discovery, or run a large and highly successful business?

23: Would you rather be very strong, or very fast?

24: You’re having dinner with your favorite person. Would you rather eat at an elegant restaurant, or have a picnic at a scenic overlook?

25: Would you rather be able to fly, or to speak and understand all the languages of the world?

26: Would you rather live in a medieval style castle, or a loft apartment?

27: Would you rather climb a mountain, or swim across a large lake?

28: Would you rather read a book or watch the movie?

29: It’s your birthday! Would you rather have lots of small gifts, or one big one?

30: What good things happened this month? What were your favorite moments this month?

31: Month review! How did this month go? Which goals did you complete? What do you still need to work on?

The new Daily Journaling Prompts for the next month come out on the last Wednesday of each month. Look for November’s DJPs here on Quo Vadis blog Wednesday October 31st!
