February is International Correspondence Writing Month (InCoWriMo)! People from all over the world participate by writing a letter every day for the whole month. To see more information about InCoWriMo and how you can participate, visit InCoWriMo.org!

You don’t have to send international letters, necessarily. The International part in the name just means everyone worldwide is invited to participate. But if you want to send letters overseas, go for it! Pen pals are encouraged.

You don’t even have to mail the letters. Hand-delivery or even leaving a note for someone counts too.

And it doesn’t even necessarily have to be a letter. Cards and postcards count too. The only rules are, it has to be handwritten, you have to send 28 of your handwritten messages during the month of February, and they have to reach the intended recipient via mail or another form of delivery. You can send the messages to people you know, leave them for strangers in public places, send to different people every day, or the same person all month long. It’s up to you.

Writing and sending/delivering a handwritten message every day for 28 days requires a certain amount of commitment. If you fall behind, you can catch up. I suppose you could even write them all at once and send them together, although that might defeat the purpose.
