Time management Monday: Upsizing your planning

Post Comment

If (like me) you have a busy schedule with lots of tasks to fit in, it might be time to upsize your planning.

The best way to see what you have going on and when you’ll have time to get everything done is with a big weekly planner, with your schedule and tasks right there on the weekly spread.

If your planner is too small, you’ll end up scrunching your handwriting to jam everything into the day spaces. This doesn’t let you see clearly what’s on when, and when you’ll have space in between things to get tasks done.

A large weekly planner with a timed schedule and space for lists allows you to write everything you need to do all week. You can do your time blocking so you can see the layout of your day and week, and list all the tasks that need done that week so you can see when you can fit everything in. As an example, you can see last week’s post where I showed you how I fit my tasks around my work and scheduled events like a jigsaw puzzle.

Despite their generous page size, Quo Vadis large weekly planners are very slim and light so they fit comfortably in your bag.

Our most popular weekly planner is the Trinote, which has a page size of 7 by 9 3/8 inches. If you are especially busy and need lots of space to write each week, I recommend upsizing to the Prenote which has the exact same layout with a larger page size of 8 1/4 by 11 5/8 inches. Both the Trinote and the Prenote have space every day to write notes, and categorized lists spaces each week.

Our weekly planner with the most space for each day is the President, with a page size of 8 1/4 by 10 1/2 inches and a large weekly dashboard for categorized lists.

If you prefer a week + notes layout, the Note 27 gives you loads of space for your schedule and a huge page each week for lists and notes. It is the same size as the President with a page size of 8 1/4 by 10 1/2 inches, but is still very slim and lightweight.

All of these planners come with refillable covers in a variety of colors and materials.

  1. I won a 2018 Trinote planner with the beautiful Rose Grenadine cover and began using it last week. Upsizing definitely helps me. I have tried various sizes of planner over the past few years and realized Trinote is the size for me. It fits in my purse and I have enough room to write whatever I need. I find I prefer the daily columns in a vertical format and I can use my fountain pen on the Clairefontaine paper. The planner is so elegant and the maps and pages for notes are a nice extra. Thank you, Karen, for the giveaway.
