Writing Wednesday: Richard’s Journal 21 for his Page Per Day Challenge

Post Comment

Today Richard shows us how he has been using his Journal 21 planner he won in our giveaway last December for his Page Per Day Challenge this year. Thank you for sharing, Richard!

It was my good fortune to win a Journal 21 in a drawing last year. Laurie ask me to do a review of it, I am happy to, the least I can do.

I have used it everyday of this year, and I use it primarily as a long term planner. I also keep a Bullet Journal, but found the Journal 21 much easier for a planner, then just transfer appointments into the BuJo first thing in the morning.

I am very impressed with the overall quality of the Journal 21, the paper is wonderful, and the binding second to none. About half way through the year I switched to using all pencil for the simple reason that plans change, ink doesn’t. I wasn’t sure how the cover would hold up, but was satisfied, it is stronger than it looks. I do use high lighters to color code entries. This is a very good test of paper quality, it will bleed through paper of lesser quality.

I also used the calendar in front to track exercise and calories burned. It was particularly useful for that. I’m sure it would work for numerous things, and I enjoyed having it there.

This planner stayed on my desk for the majority of the time. I would like to carry it with me, but with the flexible cover, it is not conducive to using on the go. For that reason, I want to try the Habana 21 with the hard cover, pocket in the back and the elastic to keep it closed. For my purpose, I think it will be much better.

In conclusion, this is an excellent tool, I highly recommend it. The quality is superb, and you can’t go wrong with any of the Exaclair family of products.
