Time management Mondays: When do the holidays start… to overwhelm?

As Karen wrote last week, the holidays seem to arrive earlier and earlier each year, at least in stores.

They arrive earlier and earlier on my calendar, too: the party invitations, the cards, the travel plans that need to be booked months in advance to avoid exorbitant fees, the staking of vacation time. By the time mid-November rolls around, I stop actively scheduling things because I know I’ll have all I can do to manage all the things that have been planned in advance, and still leave room for impromptu activities.

How do you manage the holiday calendar madness?
