Quick question for all you Twitter users: are you a member of any Twibes? What do and don’t you like about them?
Karen and I recently noticed a Twibe for fountain pen users whose membership already includes a lot of people we know from our blog and our Twitter feed. We were also intrigued by the possibility of creating a Twibe around notebooks and paper. I guess those are two separate questions, but we’re not sure if either of them is something we should do—would it just start to seem like some cynical corporate thing? And are Twibes any better than hashtags for communicating about a specific topic?
If you have an opinion, please let us know in the comments (or on Twitter, which is where this question’s headed next). Thanks!

Thanks to all who chimed in on our recent question about whether or not to start Twittering.
In the end, we’ve decided to go ahead and take the plunge, for much the same reasons that kookychick suggested—reaching a new demographic, sending out product updates, and boosting awareness of our most recent surveys and contests.
Anyway, if you’re interested, here’s where you can find us.

A couple people have asked us recently when we’re going to join Twitter. Some of our competitors (and many of our friends) use the service, but neither I nor Karen has gotten that into it, so we weren’t quite sure what to say.
On the one hand, we don’t generate a whole lot of “news” on any given week, and of course we always have the blog to broadcast our announcements. On the other hand, Twitter isn’t necessarily about official news/announcements, and there are plenty of paper and pen related topics we could tweet about.
What do you think? If we created a Twitter stream for Quo Vadis or our parent company, Exaclair, would you read it? What sorts of things would you want to learn about in 140 characters or less?
