Move the pocket? Part II…

A couple months ago, Karen wrote a post on Rhodia Drive about moving the Webbie’s pocket from the back to the front of the notebook, as per a reader suggestion:

I generally write on one side of each page in a journal. I also use the rear pocket for ticket stubs, receipts, mementos, etc. As the pocket gets things in it it becomes more and more awkward to write on the right side of the open journal. Has there ever been any thought of moving the pocket to inside the front cover, instead of the rear?

We got lots of great feedback in the comments (I particularly loved one commenter’s suggestion of a customizable stick-on pocket), and because I’m guessing Habana fans will also have opinions on the matter, I decided to post the question here.

What do you think? Are you happy with your pockets in the back, or would you prefer to see something different?

DIY notebook pockets

Speaking of composition notebooks, here’s something I’ve been meaning to blog about for months.

Nonetheless, I have one going at all times and I can’t seem to give it up. It functions as my most expansive idea journal, and sometimes (the horror!) my diary, when I’m in the mood, or when I want to write down a particularly memorable dream. There are also a couple of things I like to store in it — photographs and souvenirs — so one evening I sat down to make my very own pocket on the inside of the front cover.

Turns out, it’s not hard at all.

A Minister fan from Old Lyme, Connecticut recently wrote in with the following suggestion:

It would be very helpful to have a cover with a POCKET to place correspondence cards, business cards, etc. so loose items do not fall out of the book.

Another Minister devotee made a different request in her online review of the product: “Add a loop to hold my pencil.”

Good ideas, all… what do you think?
