As many of you know, today is Bastille Dayen France, and to celebrate, we’re giving away Habanas to 8 lucky recipients!
We’ve got one blank and one ruled version in each cover color — black, red, raspberry, and lime — and to keep things fair (and simple), we’ll send one at random to each of our 8 winners.
To enter, just leave a comment on this post before Friday at 12:00 am EST. We’ll select the winners at random, and follow up via email to sort out addresses and such. So please don’t forget to include an email address when you comment! (Don’t worry, it won’t be published.)
Bonne chance!
UPDATE: Congratulations to our winners, TAO, Ryan, Katy, Joy, Dominic, Eric C, Richard, and John!
If you’re curious about our eco-friendly Equology line, today’s your lucky day — we’ve got some extra 2009 Equology planners in the office, and the first 20 people who write us will get a daily or weekly planner of their choice.
Among the weekly formats, you can choose from the Scholar, the Minister, and Sapa X.
If you’d prefer a daily planner, ask for a Textagenda.
To throw your name into the hat, send us an email with your choice of format, and your first and second choices for cover colors and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Stay tuned for more fall giveaways, including academic planners, notebooks, ink, and even 2010 planners!
It’s hot and muggy in New York, but August’s first “Where to Go” contest entrant, Janet, is already dreaming of next year’s NHL Winter Classic at Fenway Park.
For the last few years, the National Hockey League has showcased a Winter Classic game. It’s how we ring in the new year; the game is on January 1st and the best part — it is outdoors! The 2010 game will feature the Philadelphia Flyers vs. the Boston Bruins in Boston. My husband and I went to Boston for our 15th wedding anniversary, that was ten years ago. We’d love to revisit for our 25th anniversary.
Thanks to the folks at Etchstar, who sell laser-engraved Clairefontaine, Rhodia, and Quo Vadis notebooks over at NotebookEngraver, we are now the proud owners of 4 black Habana notebooks (6.25″ x 9.25″) engraved with my own favorite Domo design! Which is pictured above and also, on a different notebook, at the NotebookEngraver website.
We’ll be raffling them off to the winners of our newest contest, the “Where to Go” sign/photo contest (not to be confused with our regular “Where to Go” contest). Here’s how it works: you send us photographs of particularly cool or unusual signs — highway signs, bathroom signs, wilderness trail guideposts, mileage signs, etc. For example, here’s a license plate Tom Hall saw in Wisconsin:
Our first international “Where to Go” entry! Thanks to Woodworker for writing in from the Netherlands… about Rotterdam’s North Sea Jazz festival.
Every year I go with a friend to the North Sea Jazz festival in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). This year I also took my wife for the first time. The North Sea Jazz festival is great because they have 15 places with concerts in one big building, filled with 25.000 people on friday, saturday and sunday. My wife was amazed about the huge amount of people. We saw several acts that blew us away. We started with Gilberto Santa Rosa, a latin band, woow that was a great intro. We went on to James Taylor, SMV (with Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller and Victor Wooten, three of the greatest bassplayers).
Then came our Dutch champ Wouter Hamel. After that we had Amos Lee, George Duke. And last but certainly not the least was our own Candy Dulfer. She blew us totally away. Even when we where very tired, we could not stand or sit still, we just had to dance. It was great being in Rotterdam again. I hope next year we go again! If you like jazz/pop/blues and live-music, and you are in the Netherlands, just go there, it is a great festival with great atmosphere.
Thanks to May’s first (and only) “Where to Go” contest entrant, Bill Bradford, who wrote about Austin’s Lady Bird Lake and won himself a free Clairefontaine basics notebook.
In honor of the contest’s first month, we decided to forego the drawing and send each of our entrants a prize—a free Clairefontaine “Basics” notebook. So, congrats to all!
And to everyone else, it’s a new month and there’s a new notebook on offer… So just send us a couple paragraphs about your favorite spot (with pictures, if possible!) and tell us ‘Where to go.’
As many of you know, our name, Quo Vadis, means “Where are you going?” in Latin. Well, we want to find out where you’re going these days—tell us, and you could win a free notebook.
So whether it’s a city or a statue, a mountain or a winery, send us a paragraph or three about your favorite spot (with pictures, if possible!) and let us know what’s so cool about it. Then, we’ll put it up on the blog, and at the end of each month, you’ll be entered in a random drawing to win a free Clairefontaine “Basics” notebook in your choice of color (red, green, tan or black) and binding (clothbound, staplebound or spiral). Eventually, we’ll put together a special section in the blog with everybody’s input—a sort of eclectic travel guide.
