I love the idea of the art book exchange. Many artists seem to enjoy projects like this, and they prove to be successful.

I think the Flickr group and the blog would be good. Flickr is a great way to easily collect the images from everyone that participates. The blog can provide more in depth information and features, and is a good way of organizing the content to share with others.

I would love to be involved in this. The individual pieces of paper will probably work better, although I love the idea of receiving an unfinished journal in the mail. If you pass the journal around, the next artist can continue where the last one left off which would be awesome. Sign me up if this is a go.

I recently saw the documentary about the original 1000 journals. I'd love to participate in something similar :)

Oh, me, definitely! I think there should be a Flickr group or another blog, but the more extraordinary ones should deserve a post here. :)

A small note: http://1001journals.com/ already does something like this, but one of the problems that comes up is that it somehow gets lost along the way (as Carys mentioned above), i.e. the journal stops at some person, and that person is never heard from again. :( Sending people separate pages makes me a little uneasy, though.

Wow, that sounds SO very cool! I'd love to participate in another one.

Books can be tricky for round robins; there's always the chance that someone loses it or flakes out and keeps it. One group I was in avoided that by sending blank pages to each participant and having them send their own pages back by the deadline, then had the book bound afterwards (spiral binding). It worked really well.

I think a blog would be great, especially with thumbnails to click through to the full sized pieces. (I have a slow net connection and limited bandwidth, but love to see things; I just have to not load much at once.)

And I second Sam's suggestion to link it from here so that it stays part of the same "space".

Could you link it like you have in the 'About Us' section so it stays part of this blog, but is a blog within a blog?

Next Question: Excellent idea, sign me up (even though my art is nothing to write home about). Very cool idea! :)
