Our global marketing manager, Wladimir Taranoff, was back in New York this weekend to run his fourth marathon. Apparently, he bested last year’s time by 15 minutes—congratulations, Wladimir!

I’ve never really been tempted to run a marathon before, but I was curious to hear how you prepare. Contrary to what I’d've thought, you DON’T train for a marathon by running 26 miles. Wladimir said he ran for an hour a couple days a week, and then for 2 hours on weekends. Do that for a couple of months and I guess you’re ready to go the distance.

I can’t say I’m any more tempted, but it doesn’t sound as grueling as I thought.

Now to all you Americans… get out there and vote!

A bit of random trivia: according to Drum Talk Organizer Elie Kihonia, there is a bread called “Quo Vadis” in his native Congo.
